Amore e Psiche

2018

Psyche unveiling the face of the sleeping Eros marks the beginning of the initiated journey, reminiscent of female priestly initiations, symbolized by the Flame and the “active” red color of feminine nature. The castle represents a sacred “Hortus Conclusus,” with its color evoking the spiritual and alchemical. The wings symbolize the “volatile” mercurial principle that eludes the control of the initiate. Eros sleeping on a gramophone alludes to a ritual where the music of words, the magical “carmina,” recalls the sacred “verbo sacro” of Life.
