La Ballata del Demiurgo, del Bagliore Dorato e dell’Accordo Dimenticato

This image represents the birth of our universe. Indeed, according to Neoplatonic philosophy and the theory of Pythagoras, the world and the entire universe were created by celestial music. In the middle of the composition, there is a female figure, who is Wisdom, Sophia. She is crossed by seven strings (like the seven musical notes) with a gigantic anthropomorphic musical instrument, the Demiurge, a “creator-artisan” figure responsible for the functioning and continuation of the physical universe. On the wall, there are some empty frames because the world is forming at that moment, and nothing has a clear shape yet. In fact, everything is in a total primordial chaos. Wisdom is blind because it knows everything, and the human race can never attain its own knowledge.
