Leda e il Cigno

2018

Zeus, the Sovereign of the gods, fell in love with Leda, the Goddess-Moon, and pursued her to join with her. After many transformations, Zeus in the form of a swan managed to capture Leda, also known as Nemesis (goddess of Divine Retribution), and from their union, Helen of Troy was born. It is an allegory of the religious syncretism of the Mother Goddess cult, matriarchal cults, succumbing and merging with the cults of male gods and the patriarchal system of Hellenic warriors. Leda-Nemesis, with her esoteric symbols (six-spoked wheel and griffin), encounters Zeus and his symbols. The environment is ivory and gold, reminiscent of the sacred chryselephantine sculptures of Ancient Greece.
